Bendsneyder rides last two WorldSSP races for MV Agusta, Sofuoglu departs!
The Dutchman had received a lifeline in the World Superbike paddock after his recent Moto2 exit. Bo Bendsneyder has not had it easy in recent weeks. He left the Moto2 World Championship prematurely after a controversial split with the notorious Precianos Racing Team.
Precianos Racing, which was in different hands as SAG Team and GasUP until mid-2024, signedBendsneyder in 2021. Despite solid performances, including his first Moto2 podium at the GP of America in 2023, and because he finished all three full seasons as the highest scoring rider of the team, the now renamed Precianos team and Bendsneyderthis season abruptly broke up and controversy quickly arose over who was to blame for the separation.
While the hope of achieving another Grand Prix classification faltered, the World Supersport paddock was knocking on the door, as MV Agusta Reparto Corse had just said goodbye to Bahattin Sofuogluafter three years of working with the Turkish driver.
Sofuoglu, who achieved one victory and four podiums during his time at MV Agusta, struggled to match his success this year and finished 13th in the standings compared to last season's result (6th), his best result in his career.
Bendsneydertold about his move to the WorldSSP paddock: "I am very happy to start this new adventure with MV Agusta Reparto Corse. I thank Andrea for the trust and for the opportunity to participate in these two races. "I am ready and very motivated. I can't wait to get started with the team, to give my best in Estoril and Jerez."
Andrea Quadranti, Team Principal, said about the arrival ofBendsneyder in the long term:
"I welcome Bo to the MV Agusta RC team. I am very happy that he will be part of our team next year. The next two races are a kind of dress rehearsal with a view to the winter preparation.
I thank Bahattin for the work he has done with us over these three years. We have shared so many exciting moments, and I wish him all the best for his future.”
