Why a new model instead of the perfect and well-known one Yamaha YZF-R6..
Yamaha has decided some time ago to develop the YZF-R6stop due to a combination of factors affecting the future of the supersport category. A key reason is the stricter Euro 5 emission standards, which impact the production and sale of high-performance motorcycles with relatively low engine capacity, such as the 600ccR6, complicate. This makes it financially difficult for manufacturers to continue developing and selling these models.
In addition, the demand for 600cc supersport motorcycles has declined in recent years. The market share for these motorcycles has significantly decreased, especially now that more riders prefer larger, more powerful models or naked bikes. As a result, Yamahano longer a strong motivation to be in theR6to invest, especially because sales figures gradually declined since the heyday of sport motorcycles in the early 2000s.
TheR6 was once a benchmark in the supersport category and introduced several innovative technologies, but the recent models have seen little real innovation, which has further affected the decline in interest in this segment.
With the launch of the newR9seemsYamahanow to take a new direction by presenting a more attractive model that better meets current market needs.
